The PSCA is Promoting Chiropractic
by Bill Decken, D.C.
The PSCA has been hard at work promoting its message around the state. Dr`s. George Auger, Bill Decken, Bobby Findley, Julie Peterson and Matt Miller have hosted meetings in their offices in Greenville, Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Columbia, respectively.
Several PSCA members were in attendance along with chiropractors checking out the PSCA for the first time. The presentation discussed the history of promoting chiropractic in America and South Carolina. The PSCA campaign to promote our profession to the public is a first. No other national or state associations in the U.S. have made an effort like the one recently begun by the PSCA. IM Communications, a national PR/Marketing firm, has been retained to ensure that our efforts are most effective.
The PR/marketing campaign has several arms. First is enlisting like-minded chiropractors in the work and message of the PSCA. Second, promoting an educational reception entitled “The Future of South Carolina’s Healthcare System” featuring U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham. This reception will help raise additional funds for continuing the campaign into next year. This reception was to take place in November but had to be postponed due to Senator Lindsey’s schedule.
We are looking to reschedule this event some time in 2004. It will take place in Columbia. Third, bringing the message of health care in South Carolina to businesses, politicians, insurance groups and civic groups around the state. Last, is the four CD set designed especially for chiropractors who want to develop their own personal PR/Marketing campaign.
The PSCA sponsored another highly successful CE seminar with Dr. Jeannie Ohm from the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association. She spoke about the scientific and philosophic reasons why pregnant women, newborns and young children need regular chiropractic care. The PSCA is planning to sponsor another excellent seminar in 2004 and we hope to see you there.
The Annual Bruce Ehlich Memorial Golf Tournament was held once again at River Falls Plantation in the Spartanburg area. Several offices sent foursomes to play in the event, which was won, again, by the team consisting mainly of the Ehlich brothers, all chiropractors. As you plan your 2004 calendar please consider looking at your practice for four people who might represent your office in next years tournament. Wouldn’t it be great if this tournament grew to be a chiropractic office challenge cup with offices from all around the state coming to compete and honor the memory of a fine chiropractor?
Patient education is crucial to building a healthier culture in South Carolina and the PSCA is dedicated to helping you do that.
